Our story began in 1970, in a small Baby Health Centre in Rockdale, where a group of dedicated volunteers came together to lend a helping hand to those in need. Back then, we were known as Rockdale Community Aid Service, a humble, grassroots organisation doing shopping runs, visiting the lonely, and driving people to appointments. Over the years, our services expanded to support young families, people living with disabilities, and anyone who needed a bit of extra help.
In 1987, we officially became Rockdale Community Services, and for decades we proudly supported thousands of locals through life’s challenges. Around the same time, in the Sutherland Shire, another community organisation called BeConnected was growing strong, also built on care, connection, and community.
In 2020, we joined forces to become Better Connected Community Services, bringing together decades of experience, cultural understanding, and passion for helping others.
We are here with energy, empathy, and a genuine love for what we do. Our team of professionals and volunteers delivers support that’s tailored, respectful, and people-first.
While we continue to grow and evolve, our values remain unchanged. We believe in community, in connection, and in being there when it matters most.
Together, let’s build a more caring, connected future.
To provide innovative targeted solutions that enhance independence, encourage community participation, and build the capacity of our service users to engage positively within the community around them.
A connected community where individuals are respected, supported, and empowered.
